Zibba and Ben’s love story began in the most unexpected way - at the Indianapolis 500. What started as a weekend visit to see her cousin turned into something so much more when she met Ben on a night out. They clicked instantly and ended up spending the entire weekend together.
From that first meeting, there was an ease between them. The kind where conversation flows, time disappears, and you just know there’s something special. They officially started dating in 2019, and on September 28th, 2024, they tied the knot.
When asked what they love most about each other, their answers say everything about the dynamic they share.
“Ben is my stable, steady rock. He’s someone I know I can always rely on. At the same time, he’s constantly discovering new adventures and fun ways to challenge me.”
Zibba, in Ben’s words, is “my optimistic energizer bunny. She’s always the life of the party - especially at our wedding. She’s also deeply committed to helping both herself and me grow and improve.”
A Moment to Remember
Without hesitation, both say their favourite moment was having all of their family and friends together in one place.
“For us, knowing they traveled all the way to Jackson to celebrate with us meant more than we could ever express. That feeling of love and support was unforgettable.”
A Symbol of Forever
When it came time to design their rings, both wanted pieces that reflected not only their style, but their story.
Zibba’s wedding band was designed to perfectly complement her engagement ring. She loved the contrast between the sharp, structured baguette diamonds and the soft curves of her oval center stone.
Ben chose a classic flat band, but with deeply meaningful details. His ring features a diamond from his father’s wedding band — a subtle way of carrying family history into this next chapter.
Their favourite detail, though, is something only they know is there: each other’s birthstones set on the inside of the bands.
Advice for Other Couples
Their advice to couples planning a wedding is simple, but powerful: enjoy the process.
“It’s the only time you’ll ever get to do it. Stay true to who you are and what’s most important to you as a couple. That clarity will guide all of your decisions.”
At the heart of Zibba and Ben’s relationship is a shared love of travel. Exploring new places is how they connect, grow closer, and create their favourite memories. And they’re already dreaming about what’s next - a delayed safari honeymoon once Ben finishes his fellowship.
