You Said 'I Do': Jaymie & Gilad

Real wedding stories from real people

About four years ago, Jaymie made a big move—she left home and headed to Israel for school. What she didn’t expect was that her new city happened to be just a short drive from where Gilad’s parents lived. Over the holiday break, Gilad was visiting his family, and after a few chats on a dating app, he and Jaymie decided to meet up.

From that point on, they kept finding reasons to see each other again. Coffee dates turned into weekend trips, casual chats turned into deep talks, and before long, their bond grew stronger with every moment they shared.

Fast forward four years, and Jaymie and Gilad said “I do” in the very place where it all began. Talk about a full-circle moment.

When asked what she loves most about Gilad, Jaymie lights up. “He’s the most selfless person I know,” she says. “He cares so deeply about the people around him. And the little things he does every single day—he doesn’t even realize how much they mean. He always puts me first.”

On the same note, Gilad shared just how much Jaymie brings into his life. “She lights up every room she walks into,” he says. “She radiates this positivity that’s so infectious—it lifts everyone around her.”

A Moment to Remember

When looking back on the big day, the couple agrees: their favourite moment happened before the ceremony even began.

“We attended our cocktail hour before the ceremony,” they shared. “It gave us the chance to see all of our friends and family who came from all over the world to celebrate us. It was such a special time—to look around and know that all our favourite people were under one roof, just for us. It meant everything.”

A Symbol of Forever

When it came to choosing their rings, Jaymie and Gilad went for something classic. “We chose timeless and elegant rings,” they said. “Something we could wear every day, that would match with the rest of our jewelry and always feel like ‘us.’”

Jaymie went with a White Gold Full Emerald Eternity Ring to match her Cushion Cut Engagement Ring, and Gilad went with Comfort Fit 5mm White Gold Rounded Wedding Band.

Advice for Other Couples

Their advice for other couples planning a wedding? Keep your eyes on what really matters.

“Don’t get too caught up in the details,” Jaymie says. “The little things won’t matter in the end. Even if things don’t go exactly as planned, your day will still be perfect. Try to stay present and enjoy the night together—it goes by so fast.”

Their story is proof that love shows up when you least expect it—and sometimes, all it takes is a swipe and a bit of serendipity.
